Great album along with the rest of the Tremonti albums. I never have understood the hate Creed got which keeps some from checking out Alter Bridge and Tremonti. Mark is such a great talent and he keeps proving it over and over again.

I think I saw an interview with Mark where he said he formed Tremonti so he could play some of the more metal/ shredding stuff that he loves, but didn't fit in the Creed/AB type of music.

Mark Tremonti is the American John Sykes !!

Solid album along with all of the other Tremonti albums. Mark is such a great talent. I never have understood the hate for Creed which keeps some people from checking out Alter Bridge and Tremonti.

Loved Dying Machine, his voice has gotten stronger with each subsequent release so looking forward to this new one. A Dying Machine had a few radio friendly tracks with 'The First The Last' & 'Take You With Me' Mark is a tremendous shredder but i like how he can pull back to best serve the song & not just his impulse.

LOVE this album - The Last One of Us has moved into my top 15 songs of all time. Mark is a true underrated talent.

Mark Tremonti inspired me to pick up the guitar around the time Alter Bridge released Blackbird. His voice, his lyrics and his guitar playing have improved by lightyears since the Creed days.

Marching In Time is right up there with Mastodon for my Album Of The Year pick!

Nice review of the album. I haven’t heard this album yet. Past Tromonti albums have been full of killer songs. Definitely going to check it out!

I'm not saying I don't like the band but I would like to see Mark do something with musicians he has not worked with before. More established people like Jeff Scott Soto, Sammy Hagar, Dave Lombardo etc.

Don't forget the new Exodus in a few days.

I was put off when you said Tremonti’s voice is similar to Myles Kennedy. I don’t like Alterbridge because of that voice. It’s like a whiney Axl Rose. I will give this a try though because I like Tremonti’s guitar work.

Hey Pete you should do a ranking of the albums of Great White! I just watched the Cinderella ranking and saw you mentioned them but I see you don't have a ranking of their albums (or top 10 songs) yet.

I've always considered Tremonti to be Mark's dumping ground for tunes that don't click with AB. The new album is probably my least favorite of his solo albums, but given how he's kinda one of the primary writers for AB's stuff, that's by no means a slight against him.

Sorry, but Tremonti's vocals are nothing like Myles Kennedy. Are you deaf? They have totally different voices. Can you imagine Tremonti singing Calm The Fire, or Myles Kennedy singing I Wish You

Another SoT Wednesday, another band unknown to me. The review piqued my interest so listened to a track or two [no time to listen the entire album of all being reviewed today]. So this is modern metal? May need more time to understand all these genres - even the basic ones - but the excerpts played just not before commenting seem more like hard rock rather than metal but would welcome comments from anyone helping me understand that difference or how it applies here. But whatever it is, enjoyed it. Yes, the start of Thrown Further sounds a bit of what I think of as metal but the song itself comes across as hard rock. Also enjoyed the opener and closer of this album. This should be a good listen for the next yard work day which is coming soon. Once again, Pete, thanks for all these reviews today. Really looking forward to the Jethro Tull roundtable discussion of the Benefit anniversary. Just showed up in the mailbox here.

Bought and listened to this today, first album I've heard from them. Pretty good stuff, heavier than AB but not as good overall IMO.
