An entire book shelf that needs purging. Please let me know which books you think I should keep or unhaul.

Ooh, I like a good book purge! Well, I don't like to do it myself, but I love to watch others do it. LOL!
I enjoyed the Uglies quartet, but I won't try to convince you one way or the other. I just finished the series last year.
I've read all of the Cave Bear books and I'm very mixed on them. I think the everyone should read the first one, but they go down a little from there. I enjoyed reading about the life of the people and their customs, but they were very sexually explicit in great detail. It got to the point that I was rolling my eyes in the later books.
I was also not crazy about Mrs. Lincoln's Dress Maker. But I absolutely love her Elm Creek Quilt series (except for Sonoma Rose 😕)and would recommend it. I don't know anything about the one that you have, but I do plan to read more of her historical novels.
Yes, yes, yes, to These Is My Words!! Don't worry about the grammar. The main character educates herself and learns better grammar. The Arizona backdrop does figure in, but I don't think it's overpowering. It's a very character driven book. It follows the main character for 20 years starting at age 14.

I love The clan of The Cave Bear Books. But I love everything Native American when I read so I'm not sure if that's your genre. They are sometimes difficult to read because of the life that they lived. And they're not all uplifting so you have to be in the right mindset to read them. I would unhaul the YA books and the second book by Naomi Reagan (I don't like books that are about people wrongly accused or about adultery) and the diet book, and A Matter of Trust. The Ghost of Hannah Mendes sounds great, and I vote to keep Shadowbrook and the Mercy Seller.
Great Video!

I've backtracked to watch your shelf purge videos. Please forgive me for the length of this comment - but you asked!! I haven't read most of these novels. I did read three books in the Uglies series. They were pretty good, but a YA series... which I eventually didn't care too much about finishing because . . . YA. I liked the post-apocalyptic dystopian setting. Then I read another Scott Westerfeld book (Leviathan) and hated it severely... it was steam punk which I can't get into apparently.

I tried to read Clan of the Cave Bear once but it was hard (for me) to get into and soon was DNFed.

Yes, I'm not fond of unpronouceable character names. I'm also not a big fan of short stories... not one right after another. An occasional short story is fine. Maybe three in a row, max. I like to write them more than I like to read them.

Yes, I've found some of my childhood friends. I find some on Facebook but many people won't participate. I've found some from reading online obituaries of their relatives... they may contain current last names and locations.

I've never tried to read a Willa Cather book.

Prometheus was quite an artist! Colorful!

I'd get rid of the debutante book. Also don't want to read about a body found in the woods.

Oh! I like the one-star ratings at Goodreads too.

Pajama Girls? Sounds suspicious. I would ditch a book about people who can't bother to get dressed right. That's such a weird thing for an author to focus on. There had better be a good reason for it... in the plot. Of course ... wearing pajama bottoms all day seems trendy around here with the younger generation. My daughter does it sometimes, but mainly if she's staying home that day. And she's got a nursing baby and two older children to take care of so I don't say anything to her about the way she's dressed unless she looks especially nice. She lives 2 doors from me here in the RV park.
