A ski binding is a device that connects a ski boot to the ski. Generally, it holds the boot firmly to allow the skier to maneuver the ski. However, if certain force limits are exceeded, it releases the boot to minimize skier injury, such as in the case of a fall or impact. There are different types of bindings for different types of skiing.

How to remove rear binding: 1)Turn lock screw so slot faces front and back of ski. 2) under front of binding, press metal tab down. 3) tap/slide entire binding backwards and off of track.

Thanks for the video. I was fighting with the rear binding trying to get it off. When I found both pieces will just slide right off the "track" if you put the right pressure on it. I wouldn't have known to turn the one screw 90 degrees though if it weren't for your video.

Hope this comment helps someone else if they're struggling with the back binding like I was.

Thanks. I was tossing my old skis and bindings,
and my Tyrolia 170's were in the S/N range
where they would randomly explode.
So I wanted to dismount the bindings,
and discard them separately from the skis.
Couldn't figure out how to get the toes off
until I saw your video.

Still not understanding how you got the rear binding off, is it a push down on the gold piece and push forward ? It won't budge

I know it's hard to bitch about free advice on the internet, but there is a long leap in this video between the pieces of the rear binding. A lot of really valuable information must have been left out because I'm stuck.

Dude you don’t even know the names of the simple tools let alone the parts of the binding. And the binding are like 20 years old
