Here Comes the Freedom Train - Trainz

On my model railway every year since 2020 for July 4th, I always run a mockup of the American Freedom Train with the finest engines in my collection. In 2020 it was 630, in 2021 it was 4501, in 2022, it was 5448, and in 2023 it’s ACL 1525 and N&W 943 at the head.

I've had the privilege of sitting in the cab of T&P 610 located at the Texas State Railroad. The first time I saw 610 I immediately recognized it as having pulled the Freedom Train when it came to Mobile, AL.

I was told 610 didn't pull the train outside of Texas but I'm positive it was 610 that came to Mobile.

I wish I could have seen the Freedom Train in action. Of course my favorite steam engine that pulled the Freedom Train has to be the Texas and Pacific 610

The red white and blue Freedom Train steam locomotive sits outside the B&O railroad museum in Baltimore. Go see her, and about 50 others. World’s best train museum.

Thank you- I was able to see this wonderful train when it was in the Boston RR yard (which is now buildings) - we didn't have the 4449 up here but the number 1 because of the track. Did you know that after the conclusions 4449 became a movie star back in the original Daylight colors, but the road name was Changed to the "Coast Star" I believe in Disney's Adult Company ( Touchstone) in the movie Toughguys!!! Happy fourth of July and God Bless America! We need all the help we can get!!!

I saw freedom train 1 at b&o railroad museum it its rusted state. Makes me sad for the sorry state it is in.

There are many steam locomotives I would use for the Freedom Train, sadly most of them are scrapped

Fun fact: N&W #611 was supposed to pull the American freedom train, but they couldn't fire it up in time so they used #4449 from the southern pacific
