To clarify - vinegar and salt doesn't turn into hydrochloric acid in any significant amount. The ingredient to react into HCl are there, but since vinegar (acetic acid) is a weak acid the equilibrium of that reaction will be very low. You would likely not get more than around 0.1 to 0.5% HCl even in ideal circumstances.

yes yes, I know it's cartoon logic - but I see this same misconception repeated a lot when it comes to oxide removal too in DIY videos. Adding salt doesn't provide much help in the overall reactivity. A very small amount, just not very significant. There are better ways to do it, like better acids, or elevated temperature.
