Running the Falls Road Branch

It was another Friday with Genesee Valley Transportation's Falls Road Railroad, and another day of decent weather! Once again, the crew of LB-1 and Delaware-Lackawanna Alco RS32 #2035 set out from Lockport, NY and worked their way east to the end of the line in Brockport, where I decided to take a closer look at the end of track just seventeen miles west of Rochester!

An original NYC RS32 diesel locomotive on the New York Central falls road. I've ridden behind it at the Medina railroad museum pulling original New York Central passenger cars for the fall foliage train in October of 2008. Roundtrip from Medina museum depot to Lockport yard and back.

Thanks for posting the footage for the end of the ROW. As a native resident of Lockport it is very sad to see. Any recent news or musings about NYS extending or reclaiming the abandoned ROW or CSX being interested for alternative routes?

Those were great end of line shots. Don't get to see that too often. Saw it around my place in 1990 when they pulled up the tracks unfortunately. Do they still go on the other portion of the line to Somerset ?

Very cool chase but sad to see the end of the line @ Mile Marker 17. I wonder, how old is that line? Did the Lincon Funeral train use these tracks on it's way to Buffalo? Also, my hands were cold, and I just wanted to stick them near that exhaust pipe. Ever want to catch a ride with them one day?

Sounds like some of the switches off of their mainline are radio activated. Are these controlled from the locomotive, or from the home office? Any ideas??

What is that green thing with the stairs on it? Don't look like any kind of signal.
