So. At 8:14. The rear slips out. The real ch47 does NOT do this in normal flight due to the DAFCS system. Because DAFCS isnt in dcs YET then the chinook will be slightly harder to control. This is because DAFCS has an auto trim function which does as it says on the tin and does trim for you. You can still use AFCS beep trim manually but in the F model (the one we have). DAFCS is a huge controlling factor and a reason why the hook is so easy to use

Bought this module the second I saw it available on Steam, and I agree with this review 100%. It's a fun bird, very powerful and a bit quirky, but the flight model doesn't really feel like it is in a finished state. My recommendation is to buy it so the developer is motivated to keep working on it.

The flight model - at release - is a cartoon impression.

Thanks for the review. Here's hoping it gets filled out as time goes on.

I’ve flown the ch-46 and the rear sliding out was definitely a thing in it. Glad to see it here. I only had 8 hours in it but I’m pretty sure that’s about keeping it in trim.

Hang on.... you can fly a heli in DCS and not crash instantly, this is news to me! I'm still super on the fence about this module, I picked up the chinook in MSFS and it was quite fun to mess around in. Also great to hear i'm not the only one who finds steamers interacting with chat constantly and saying hi when youre watching a video annoying.

I love your affinity for realism, agree on the wind settings sentiment. I think actual zero wind and turbulence should be in the same menu area as game flight setting and invincility. In real life on the calmest day, air still moves, just differently, and no sim does great at this yet. I find 12 knots wind and 15 units turbulence in dcs is an effective balance.

I wish they had gone with the older steam gauge version.

the Kiowa is extremely easy to fly and hover aswell, id say the kiowa is a much more ''fun'' aircraft for new players that are into helicopters, but at the end of the day people should buy what they are interested in

Yeah they were able to figure out soldiers climbing into vehicles and aircraft and then being able to see them back in 2001 with the first ARMA game (Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis).

Lol, always gets me when pronounced 'Chin-Hook'
It's 'shin-ook'
Means warm wind or river salmon depending on region in North America

I don't see it on steam yet :(
It looks good though!

Do you launch DCS in the MT shortcut or regluar short cut? CH47 is considered the Cadillac of Helicopters

The rudders just adjust the individual rotor torque? Is that how you stay coordinated?

Je doute que la machine est un comportement aussi stable et facile ...je pense que le modèle de vol est pas représentatif de la véritable machine pour le moment

It's NOT "collective". In the Chinook it is called "Thrust".
