Multi-vehicle fatal crash shuts down Southbound SR-163 in Kearny Mesa

Southbound State Route 163 at Interstate 805 in the Kearny Mesa area was closed Friday morning following a fatal crash overnight.

The crash prompted a SigAlert and traffic was being diverted off SB SR-163 to southbound I-805 in the area of the Genesee Ave exit. That area of SR-163 is expected to be closed until further notice.

Four people died in the crash that happened around 1:30 a.m. and there were at least two cars involved, according to California Highway Patrol.

Unfortunately they were all friends going to San Diego to have fun they are related to same region and from country as me. I feel blue that isunacceptable, whoever hit that Prius obviously on something and he or she would never free he should be in jail lifetime and California is the worst state for the traffic rules the police and government should give people dissuasive penalties to avoid this kind of crashes. Super sad and nothing can bring them back human life’s are actually so cheap unfortunately…

Looks like a rear end at high speed... Small car on the left looks like a hatchback style car / maybe Prius (2014-2016). Wonder if all dead came from small car or if one of the deceased was from the turned over truck... I would bet on the former with all decedents coming from the compact car.
