MW2 - Giggity's First Nuke (finally)!

I normally play regular TDM, sabotage, a little CTF and some S&D and have never managed to get a nuke. I'm only an average player and any time I've enabled the nuke killstreak I've never got one. I tend to play somewhat cautiously, I'm not a run & gunner but I'm ok. I've had several 25 killstreaks before but of course didn't have the nuke selected during those games. So, after watching a few YouTube vids I decided ground war would give me a better chance of getting one.

My 3rd game was domination on Wasteland (which seems to be the easiest gametype and map to get a nuke on) and I finally got one. To be honest, just like everyone says, it actually wasn't that hard. I'd noticed nobody on the other team seemed to want to take out any air support which was good for me, and once I got my harriers it was like shooting fish in a barrel. But, I thought I'd ruined my chances by forgetting to change my killstreaks back. I had ducked out of ground war after my first 2 games and changed my killstreaks back to 5, 7 & 11 for some normal TDM and thought I'd forgotten to change them back for this game. I didn't even notice when I never got a predator at 5 kills which is good 'cos I think if I had I'd have realised I had nuke enabled and it would've made me nervous. You can imagine my surprise when it flashed on screen that I'd got the nuke! :o)

I cut the first few minutes of the game as it started slow and there wasn't much going on. At the start of the vid I'm already at 4k - 2d and have just respawned. Perks were ScavPro, SPP, NinjaPro and killstreaks were harriers, chopper gunner and of course nuke.

All I can say for anyone still trying to get a nuke is ground war domination is definitely the game mode to play and on a big open map like wasteland you've got every chance of getting one. You really only need 7 kills for harriers and they do the rest (along with your chopper gunner or ac130). Just stay calm, don't die needlessly and keep your head.

Oh, and my 4th game was another ground war domination game, again on Wasteland, and I got a 21 killstreak (and yes I was going for my 2nd nuke). ;op
