In the 1990s I drove a truck with a 8V92T.
Had a song better than a Ferrari, And much more torque
Also the first diesel to have four (4) valves per cylinder. Had 4 valves per cylinder Before Ferrari.

They put these same engines in tug boat pushing 2000 ton barges around full of gravel they got plenty of power there all industrial engines there solid engines

Old Detroits sounded the best and they lasted beyond forever but dont expect good mpg or even a good smelling ride it hell these things have been kown to put a rod through the block pull the pieces out and restart it lol

Abuddy of mine had one of these in a cabover Transtar 2. Had better turbos and bigger injectors. It was fast as hell. He used it to haul hundred thousand pound loads of sheet steel.

Saweet. Believe oil pressure is gauge minus manifold. Likely 10 psi since it’s turbo plus blower. 50-55 is still great.

It is a very starter motor, I mounted a detroit 8v 71 on a heavy car with a radiator and I tested if the starter turned and with the diesel oil from the injectors I start.

with a #105 injector the 8V92TI marine engine made 550 hp, with a #115 injector they made 600 hp.
