My personal favourite view is from the top of One New Change building near St Paul's. It's free and good, particularly on days when it's not super sunny. Plus there's a great bar for summer days.

If you ever go again, it’s worth trying one of the restaurants for lunch (or dinner). You still get the views and enjoy a lovely meal at the same time. We enjoyed it when we did it. The atmosphere was really good as well.

Hi Guys .. I’ve been to the shard many times, for cocktails/small plates or afternoon tea and it’s better value to eat or drink than pay for the view sun setting early eve the view is spectacular from the restaurants even though lower down..and so pretty late night ..my sons office is in the sky garden building opposite he has that view every day… try the Sky Garden view there next time you visit, it’s free! 😊x

Been up the Shard and loved the views but thought it was a bit pricey, Went up the CN Tower in Toronto for less with far more spectacular views.

Hope your both well - SkyGarden is free with a similar view with bars and restaurants - it does require a reservation though and i think they only make available a week or a few weeks at a time - its a viable option - you could also get a reservation at Duck and waffle or Sushi Samba for similar views of the city

Thank you for sharing your adventure and for taking the financial hit for everyone for this expensive and uninspiring lift journey. It’s very much appreciated. The London skyline can be viewed from other locations, even from the plane as you have already shown, but here the experience and atmosphere can easily be spoilt by excessive numbers both in the lift and on the top deck. No doubt the picture books were expensive as well. Thank you Andrew and Laura, another interesting and well-constructed vlog.

I totally agree about the music. You have those amazing views that you could soak up a lot more if you had mellow relaxing music behind you. When it pumping like that, and the piano thing…….OMG just no, I don’t think so 😢

went last year on a sunny day and at sunset time, had a few cocktails and it was a lot busier. Was good but its not exactly something you'd be quick to come back too. Sky garden is free and very similar.

You can come for free to the restaurant at the shard on 32 floor from another entrance. (I think they have a bit of dress code there). On 68th floor buildings are just getting too small to look at at least for me (as if watching down from a plane). Shame it was bad weather on that day for you. Other better alternatives sky gardens (free entry or book a restaurant if not slots left), 120 garden view, Tate Modern the Switch building has a beautiful 360 view terrace.

It is expensive for what you get but my husband and I had a train ticket so we got a buy one get one free but that was before covid . If you want a good attraction try London Bridge experience that was brilliant.

The Monument on the other side of the river is good value. I remember when it was free, then years ago it was closed for a good while due to refurbishment, but have just checked and tickets are Pds 6 each. Maybe better value? You need to walk up and down!

We done the shard but agree with you both it is pricey, luckily we done it with Tesco Club card vouchers, views were good on the day we done it could see right out to Wembley stadium, we opted for the digital photo package which wasn’t to bad a price for amount of photos you got but probs gone up
Since we went last year, like all tourist attractions in London it is expensive 👍

Hi guys, the views were awesome but the rest of the experience for me was a no, the load music, the feel of the cafe style area, the pushy people selling the photos etc definitely for me a No and the cost I suppose is about right for the money🙂👍
