Epic Door Sensors! Montgomery Traction Elevators - Point West Commerce Center - Sacramento, CA

[Recorded 3-16-21] These used to be Montgomery Elevators with EPCO Circline. Well, since my last visit here, they've been modernized! However, I actually really like this mod. The company that modded these used a version of Innovation Pinnacle that none of us have seen before. These also now feature super cool door sensors, some of which are actually ON TOP of the doors! That's right, these have sensors that sense a person before they even block the door sensors. We demonstrate them many times in this video. The door sensors are a model made by Janus called the PanaChrome 3D. We've never seen this version before so we didn't think Janus manufactured them. I wonder if the ones above the doors are made by Janus too? I really like this configuration, with the outer cars being single-slide and the middle being center-opening. Even though these didn't really need it, this was a really well-done modernization!!

Yeah... I definitely haven't seen this type of safety infrared screen used on an elevator door b4. This is similar to grocery store doors of course. What a great idea!

This elevators... (mind blown), I thought the motion sensors for the lights, for the doors that's really cool no longer to strike a hand in the doorway. The buttons, I've never seen those buttons with labels on it. Hopefully those type of sensors will come to more elevators in the future.

Well we’re sure going to miss the old bells and the epic motor in that one elevator car. This is a pretty cool mod though. I find the new buttons rather interesting and those door sensors look super cool. RIP Montgomery.

I think a lot of elevators in the UK have similar sensors!

I like sensors that light up and I have never seen a sensor that can detect obstruction without being in between the doors in the United States or Cañada, but I have seen sensors in Japan with electric eyes mounted on the inner door frame and can detect obstruction if standing under the inner door frame.
