Carnage - Building a New 2JZ Engine for Trolvo - Part-2 ( 1.5JZ Build)

Показать описание
Last episode we dragged an old NA 2JZ engine from out the back and pulled it right down to see how it looked. This episode we start building it back up using factory 2jz rods and pistons and a 1jz head. It's the budget 2jz build you've all been waiting for and it's going into our Volvo 240.

Street Machine Carnage is all about having fun with cars. Sometimes it's serious performance, sometimes it's crazy fun, but it always interesting and done on a budget.

I really like that joiner wire idea. Have done that dance more than once.

I learn more in 20 minutes of carnage than in all the 3 years I spent at school 🤷‍♂️

Scott, back in the 70's NPR offered a big bore kit for VW Type IV/Porsche 914 engines... Pistons, cylinders & rings. Excellent quality. Built 2 motors using them.

Hi Scott, I noticed that your arp brush is looking sad. A 1 inch foam cut in brush works great for putting on arp thread lube. I use a 4 inch cut in for bores by dipping the sides and spinning it down them after I clean them so that they don't rust if I'm not assembling straight away. Awesome videos. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Scottie, for keeping wrenching real. Enough procrastinating, I will change over front rotors for slotted with street performance pads in my VE SSV enhanced wagon b/4 a run from FTG to Dandy. Love your work.

I've just realised, the plastic crinkly noise you hear all the time is Scotty's beard on his mic. hehe
Love these build vids mate. Inspired me to rebuild an LLT when I spun a bearing, and I'm a computer nerd!

My misses hangs on to my rod vise, don’t get to use it too often but it’s got a really neat self lubrication feature 😂

Bit of grease on the spigot of the mount plate on the engine stand helps with the grunting and swearing. 😊

Nice that you show the realistic build sequence instead of everybody else just throwing money at a build, Even the machine shop hot tank, linebore and hone which used to be common and not super expensive now adds thousands of bucks and a ton of waiting time.
Sure its "Slapped together" but its done properly, with care and precision :-)
Love the Strawberry Jam and finger Assy lube footage too...

Getting washers into a restricted area. Drop a piece of welding wire into the hole then drop the washer over the rod. A long phillips screwdriver works too.
