The 2015 Postmodern Stratocaster is elegantly designed with a reappraisal of modern assumptions. A thoroughly contemporary take on a time-honored classic, it has a lightweight ash body with a comfortably contoured heel, a quartersawn maple neck with a finely sculpted ’60s “C” profile, a fast compound-radius (9.5”-12”) “round-laminated” maple or rosewood fingerboard with 21 6105 frets, and three sparkling Fat ’60s single-coil pickups with modern five-way switching and a special “Tone-Saver” treble-bleed network that keeps tone consistent at any volume (no loss of highs when decreasing volume).

Some great features. Best of which is the contoured heel at the back of the neck. Look forward to trying one out, which would be difficult as I play lefty. Anyway thanks Fender.

That volume "treble bleed" stuff is amazing. Real good sounding. This guitar looks the perfect blend of both sides, vintage and modern. I only miss the spaggetti logo. Good job, Fender.

The ultimate Stratocaster that all guitar players would love to buy. Leo Fender invented a revolutionary instrument that is still an icon and marked a trend since then. Along with Mike Lewis excellent, precise review, and awesome playing,  explaining every guitar feature and sound profiles with excellence. A superb video indeed! Like button!☺

The Hardest thing was to choose the Colour, but i m really happy with the Phantastic Sunburst Finish, its done PERFECTLY 100%
I m so Happy now with this AXE, also the Pickups ...they are sounding so cool, also with distortion, who needs Humbuckers, when you have SUCH cool sounding PU´s ?
I mean Really there are NO better Strats as The Original from the Fender Custom Shop . Amen .

These Stratocasters have a lot to offer, actually. Perhaps some or all of these features are not important to everyone; but they are appealing to me, and I've been at this for a full 54 years. Yes, you have to spend some dough to get what you want, but that's marketing and pretty much applies to everything, including cars. Here is Fender's list of amenities for this guitar, including compound radius fingerboard and large frets, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish and lots of color/neck choices:

The 2015 Postmodern Stratocaster® is elegantly designed with a reappraisal of modern assumptions. A thoroughly contemporary take on a time-honored classic, it has a lightweight ash body with a comfortably contoured heel, a quartersawn maple neck with a finely sculpted '60s "C" profile, a fast compound-radius (9.5"-12") "round-laminated" maple or rosewood fingerboard with 21 narrow jumbo frets, and three sparkling Fat '60s single-coil pickups middle pickup) with modern five-way switching and a special "Tone-Saver" treble-bleed network that keeps tone consistent at any volume (no loss of highs when decreasing volume).

Other premium features include a three-ply parchment pickguard, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, staggered tuning machines (no string tree), Schaller® strap locks and Fender "F" logo engraved neck plate. Available in Black, Olympic White, Dakota Red and Three-Color-Sunburst new "Journeyman" Relic® lacquer finishes, which imparts the appearance of years of aging and light use without heavy wear and tear. Includes black textured vinyl hard-shell case.

This should be the standard strat in my opinion. Its a shame this is locked behind the doors of the custom shop.

Fantastic guitar and awesome playing ! As usual....I am about to change the pickups on my guitar for more warms ones ! Are they warmer ( more bass) than the fat 50 ? Won’t they be to dark on alder-rosewood 60´s style strat ? Are they to warmest set you know, but well balanced and warm clean too ? Thanks a lot for answer and help..Kindest regards from France, Gaëtan

This is a very good compromise of fender. Good on ya.

The middle pickup doesn't need a tone control, by the way ... leave that one full treble for jangle and 2 & 4 positions which need to be bright ... And put that bottom tone pot on the back pickup to knock off some of that way-too-bright, treble.

If i buy a Postmodern Stratocaster can i put a full humbucker in the bridge?
The guitar body has room for it?
Thanks!

I contacted Fender customer care to inquire on an interesting discovery. I have a 2016 Eric Johnson Rosewood Strat with the bound fretboard in Lucerne Aqua Firemist. It *is* factory with zero mods. But, from the factory it somehow ended up fitted with Fat 60s (beveled magnet ends with the bluish markings in the underside of the pickguard). Any ideas as to how this happened? This is the 3rd EJ I’ve owned, so just wondering whether this is an ‘oops’ type of thing?!
