"The Miami Condo collapsed on its own". Talk about a foreshadowing...

I wonder if anyone in that apartment building was woken by the explosions to look out of their window and see the factory rolling toward them. I bet they'd be really surprised.

The St. Petersburg footage is heart-wrenching as you see the worker on top of the building scramble as it collapsed under him. RIP.

“Thousands of people were left without power for hours.”

The power line down the road from me was hit by a tree branch and I was without power for 5 days. I now have a generator.

I remember the Crawford plant. Wasn’t far from where I lived. The twin stacks were a bit of an icon in suburban Chicago (they could be seen from Midway) and it was weird seeing the plant be disassembled bit by bit. Looking at it today (at the time of writing) there’s barely anything left.
With Crawford gone, there’s one coal fired plant standing in Chicago (inactive as well) and that is the Fisk Generating Station, standing since 1903. (Current units inside since 1968)

I expected to see many repeats, but most of these were clips that haven't previously been shown on YouTube. Thank you!

Fun fact: not only was the picture used in the thumbnail not on this video, it wasn’t even a demolition. It is a collapse building from an earthquake in Hualien, Taiwan, in 2018

"Its just lucky that no one was there at the time"
Are you sure? Don't you think they might have evacuated the building next door in case something like that happened?...

5:00 if you watch in slow motion, it looks like the guy got to the basket right as the floor dropped out from under him and he JUST missed. It literally almost looks like he has hold of the basket or was even hanging on for a second. Heart breaking. Literally. I hope the survivor who was in the basket for therapy...

I love watching successful and unsuccessful demolitions and implosions like these. Good video . I appreciate the narrative, too. Kudos!

I live in Pontiac. And I could hear the explosion of the Pontiac Silverdome from my house. I miss going to the Pontiac Silverdome. Great memories there.

5:08 - 5:16 dude had to hop a fence on the roof, and run to the basket before it collapsed. Man, poor dude has to have emotional scars from that one.

4:57 Dude!!! Fucking insane! You can clearly see that guy running after the platform for dear life! And he fell! That’s some shit you only see in action movies. RIP.

I remember reading about #5 in the newspaper. Those reporters had a field day. The former employees who had worked there were by far the most amused by the failure, as they'd tried to stop the plans for demolition. They saw it as the building giving one last middle finger to those who wanted it gone.

I lived close to the silo in Denmark when it became demolished, and it did some damage on the nearby, former building for storing goods. on the harbor. But during the new use for the area, it became a library, far away from most of the people using it!
