Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 : An Introduction

This video titled ‘Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 : An Introduction’ replaces the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and provides a general overview of reforms introduced in the criminal procedure.

It deals with pre-investigation procedures - FIR, Complaint etc. and examines the investigation-related reforms like arrest, search seizure, recording of statements, police report etc.
It further deals with post-investigation and pre-trial related changes which include the stage of cognizance, committal, supply of copies, discharge and framing of charge and explains the trial-related reforms introduced in all four types of trial - sessions trial, warrant trial, summons trial and summary trial including the changes introduced in plea bargaining. The video also covers the victim perspective, bail-related reforms and other reforms/changes.
