Is public confession necessary for salvation? Is repeating a "sinner's prayer" necessary for salvation? No. The moment someone believes on Christ (trusting him alone) in their heart, they are saved.

Confession isn’t necessary in any circumstance for salvation. No prayer is needed, no mouth confession, no public confession. It’s believe on the lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved not believe and confess. FAITH ALONE!❤️🙏

So they have to recognize that they need to be saved. So what do they need to be saved from. They need to be saved from sin. So I believe they need to ask for forgiveness.

Why is a sinner's prayer considered a public confession? A sinner's prayer can be said privately. Why would anybody wonder if a public confession is necessary for salvation? Of course it isn't. What they should wonder about is if a private sinner's prayer is necessary for salvation.

I don't think that your connection with God is a public entity! The more you meditate in complete isolation, you get closer to salvation, enlightenment or whatever spiritual growth you like!

Note that Paul said “if” one confesses with the mouth and believes in their heart they shall be saved. The pharasees heart was hardened be cause they didnt want to believe he is the Christ. John 12:40. Many of the will say Lord Lord. He will say depart from me i never knew you.
And catch this Muslims believe in Jesus. But they dont believe he is the Son of God. Does that make them saved?
