This viral trick to find out which fraction is larger is pretty neat, and it can be justified by the principle of making a common denominator. #math #maths #mathematics #shorts

It's come to this. One of the very first things I learned about fractions is now considered a big trick that no one else knows.

I have been knowing this trick since grade 4
From that day i learned that there are infinite math tricks and i got so much interested in math that I had subbed this channel on 3 different accounts... This is my 3rd recent account i have subbed on....
Its much interesting to use tricks while solving puzzles of this channel to be honest

I would have done it the common denominator method. Only comparing the numerator part makes this simple enough that I can do it in my head quickly. Thanks!

Multiplying a Fibonacci number by its preceding and succeeding one respectively gives 2 products that have a difference of 1.

It is so disconcerting to me to witness Presh address absolute basics like this. It is so surreal. 🤯🤯

Interestingly, 5/8 and 8/13 are both approximations to the Golden Ratio 2/(1+√5).

Thanks for refreshing my memory for this

Cross multiplication is so useful. Mastering that makes other math fundamentals later down the road much easier to grasp.

I remember learning this in class 2 in school. Those were such good days. Class 9 isn't tough for me but I feel extremely bored everyday.

One that I've learned when it comes to proper fractions is that the bigger the numerator and denominator is, the smaller it becomes, closer to 0

Or you can just use (slope + slope) trick In this way, it doesn't call for exact calculation. All you have to know is that 5/8 > 3/5

“You might be wondering why this trick works”
No. That is the most obvious thing I’ve even see

When did everyone learn about fractions? At what age or school year.

In my tutoring experience, I've found that students today are relatively bad at manipulating fractions. I suspect that this is related to relying on their calculators, which I couldn't do back in the day. So this could be a handy trick for those who are fraction-challenged.

I just did the reciprocal of one of them and did it like that which is more work.

With fractions the lower number in the denominator is always a larger fraction than one with a larger number in the denominator.
