Blake Pouliot only had 15 MINUTES to choose this PRICELESS 1729 Guarneri de Gesù violin! Blake Pouliot is an internationally sought after violin soloist with a phenomenal 1729 Guarneri del Gesù that he borrowed from the Canada Council Instrument Bank. In this video, Blake tells us how he only had just a few precious minutes to decide which violin he wanted to match with and what his experience has been performing on this incredibly rare violin. We had this laughter filled conversation while playing chamber music together at La Jolla SummerFest.

This is interesting, i have two old well made copies of a Strad and Del Gesu. The Strad model is clear and super loud on the high register. The Guarneri has more bottom end with a deep viola like quality and the tone overall is soft, definitely not as loud on the upper register, but still a fairly loud violin.
