LaVine for Rozier and a super late 1st would’ve been fine if Miami sent back like Duncan Robinson or something. That would’ve made the salary about even. Maybe they get back a 2nd idk. If ur Miami and Jimmy is still there playing well, giving up a pick in the mid to late 20s to upgrade from Terry to Lavine is worth the upside. Especially bc Lavine was coming off a healthy year. LaVine’s 3P shooting and shot creation would help a lot, and they could run some fun lineups.

LaVine & Herro are both snipers and on high volume. Like those two alone get you around 15 3PA per game at like 38%+.

Herro, Lavine, Burks, Richardson, Jimmy, Haywood, JJ, Jovic, Love, Ware, Bam. I still have no clue why Miami gave up a 1st for Rozier, especially one that becomes unprotected, just seems nuts to me. They needed some creation, but a 1st for Terry wasn’t it lol. Lotto protected in ‘27, unprotected in ‘28 too so it’s extra bad bc if it was just like T6 protected or w/e in ‘27 then expired, they’d have their ‘29 and ‘31 1sts to move. Instead all they can move is ‘30 OR ‘31 1st then swaps.

They owe ‘25 lotto protected to OKC, then it’s unprotected in ‘26. If they didn’t make the Terry trade, (who was giving up a 1st for him??? Maybe a swap) they actually could’ve hit up OKC and unprotected the 2025 pick. That’d mean they would be able to move ‘27/‘29/‘31 1sts, and ‘28/‘30 swaps in terms of ones that have value. He had 3y left on his deal at 23.2/24.9/26.64, so now 2/51.6M left or w/e. Also not a good fit w Herro. If they just let Lowry expire, they’d have about 10.5M above the tax line w 13 guys, also would have their 2027 1st.

So they would’ve had almost the full MLE to spend on someone. If they only wanted to use 10M, they still would’ve been in the running for Jalen Smith, Naji, DJJr, could’ve kept Caleb. Keeping Caleb would’ve helped a lot. He got 4/35 w no PO, then 5.25M in unlikely incentives. They’d have 10.5M under. So if they did similar they would’ve had like 2.5-2.6M under the tax, enough to sign another min guy or have more flexibility in a trade. Prolly would’ve needed to do Duncan and Herro Lavine for him to match $.

LaVine Herro Pelle Burks Richardson Jimmy Martin Haywood Jasquez Jovic Love Ware Bam Bryant then maybe they use their minumum on Lonnie, or w/e.

Then they still have at least 3 1sts and 2 swaps, Herro’s 29M, and they could aggregate salaries since they’d be below any apron and the tax obv. Idk how much value Herro has these days, I don’t think it’s mad negative tho. But 29M is a big salary, even him and Richardson gets it to 32M. Attach a pick or two or a swap and a pick and maybe they could make a meaningful upgrade.

But the Terry trade was a big time sell, no doubt.

You can change the draft class after you select it if you go to the edit prospects, click on anybody, then it will say change draft class, or just search it up. Btw love the content ❤

I dont get why people hate on Vooch. 18/10/3 is bad? Blame Lonzo for not playing. Blame Lavine for not playing. Blame Pat Williams for not playing and when he does its not great....Vooch is not the problem. Guys been a model pro. I get his defense is ass and hes not the best athlete but he would do well on any team because of his skill set, IQ, and work ethic. Hes a 3rd option. Nothing wrong with that.
