I just watched it and I thought it was very good. Try not to layer your own expectations of what you think it’s going to be or what you want it to be when you watch it (I guess that same advice goes for most movies). It’s a Finnish folk horror movie, it’s a parable, layered with social commentary and family psychological dynamics. It reminded me in many ways of ‘Lamb’, a Swedish folk horror movie that came out last year. I would rate ‘Lamb’ a notch above ‘Hatching’ but they’re both very good.

It has a few jumps scares, but I think the meaning is what the girl goes through with her family's issues. Very interesting watch it and play close attention to the dialogs.

Was the mom hatched as well? She seemed very disturbed and she had similar scars. Anyone catch that? In addition, she also told her daughter to be better than the other gymnast, knowing that her jealousy and envy will cause her demise.🤔
