Zelensky threw his last able troops into this dead-end offensive on 1% of the front. Kind of a swan song, really...

It doesn't matter in the least what Western weapons Ukraine uses in Russia, and the reason is very simple. Putin is in no position to escalate things. Does anyone seriously think he has been holding back in Ukraine? This was meant to be a very quick "special operation" and the longer it goes on the worse Putin looks. If Putin was able to escalate he would already have used those resources to bring his embarrassment in Ukraine to an end.

The offensive aimed at capturing the Kursk nuclear power plant is turning out to be yet another Zelensky military failure. Weak supply lines with no aerial support meant that the Kursk offensive was always going to be limited and that it will be easily contained by Russian battle group North inflicting heavy infantry and equipment losses on Ukraine. Moreover, as a direct consequence Russia's Central and Southern battle groups are meeting less resistance and are now on the verge of securing victory over the Donbass. The best that the international community with NATO countries in particular can now hope for, is that Russia achieves its SMO objectives in Ukraine sooner rather than later and with Putin having been able to deliberately hold one hand (his nuclear hand) behind his back, from start to finish.

No retaliation because Russia doesn't have the resources to retaliate. No troops and no reserves. It wouldn't wait 12+ days to retaliate if it could.

After all, Putin said there will be no peace talks now!~, Russia will now wage war until Ukraine signs a capitulation, so what kind of victory is it for Ukraine?
