Fast Feed Clippers: What Open and Close means on your clippers

This video provides a basic understanding of the meaning(s) "open" and "close" when using adjustable clippers.

*USEFUL INFO WE ALL CAME FOR:*
The lever open (down) cuts less hair than closed (lever up) - the more the lever goes up, the more hair you're cutting:
*No Guard* : Open=0.5, Closed=0 (bald)
*Guard #1* : Open=1.5, Closed=1 ...same for all other guards, you get the fade look by going between open and closed

Lever open = less hair cutted
Lever Close = more hair cutted

Thanks. I understand closed takes more hair off and that when fading one goes from closed to open. Is #0 closed then going to e.g. #0-open, #1-closed, then #1-open.. Is that skin fade? Is #0-closed considered to be going to skin?

What about when asked the question how close do you want your fade? Does this mean the same or is it different?

So if I put a 1 Guard on my clippers and push the lever up (closing it) what number does it become ?

If u want to give a skin face which one would you start with. I thought it was closed guard then use the open guard to fade it
