Short version: "Just because you're smart, that doesn't mean you're good, or that your ideas aren't flawed."

For me - I’ve had very close people who were and still are high iq equipped and failed badly in other areas that I had to back away completely - always always they loved making me feel less than and I loved them — so it was toxic for me.

The wisest men and women I've encountered are great listeners. They tend to be the people I go to for advice.

Mr. Peterson, I hope you live forever- or at least until you want to go. Thank you for everything.

Otherwise, in laymen's terms;
really smart people can be really stupid.

Definitely true. Thats why we should listen to what someone has to say no matter whats their level of education, experience, richess or accolades. They might have some wisdom to share.

Some of the wisest people I've met never went to college. They understand people extremely well.

Intelligence, wisdom and being smart is a very funny thing, I totally agree. I've met people with little education who I realized that had great smarts, intelligence, and wisdom. I have seen the other side of the coin also. Never doubt anyone's abilities, they might just surprise you. You never know what sort of life experience that they have or what they have going on inside their head. Thank you, Dr. Peterson, for this confirming posting. Your channel always surprises and challenges me. That's why I love it. Blessings to you and your family. Hope and Believe. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊.

One of my favorite movie scenes that depicts this is the movie "Sling Blade".
The main character is heavily mentally challenged and gets a job as a repairman. Someone takes in their lawn mower cause it won't start. The "smart" people can't figure out what's wrong with it. He "dumb" guy immediately walks over, opens up the gas tanks and just says
"Ain't got no gas."
Being able to solve complex, complicated problems takes a great intellect.
However even an "idiot" can have the wisdom to check for the easiest solution.

Thanks for sharing. I'd say wisdom comes from advice, luck, intuition and experience.

My personal observation before I get educated I find wisdom is both with maturing while still developing and all those times that were bad and afterwards you look at if if only I had have known blah. You learn from your suffering. If you suffered alot you learnt from alot so you have useful information for the people around you that would benefit them without the struggle you went through. Also knowledge is power and if it cost you nothing add a little power to everyone around you you all win including you. Also opinions aren't information many people confuse that these days.

This one is a bomb I've been waiting to be dropped mainstream in the hopes that finally some fools have some chance to ignite some amount of self awareness for once.

Absolutely agree.
I also often hear Peterson talking about antisocial behavior. I would suggest that in many cases there is a negative correlation between accepting the social domain and its norms and conscientiousness.
In many, if not most instances throughout history, it takes a degree of compromise not all are willing to give in to, to enjoy the benefits of social structure.
