We paid 400$/ person for 3 days (2 nights), food 3x day, great hotel/camp, transport from airport, visit in Maasai Village, 1 full day on safari and transport to ferry. So that is not the cheapest option.

I went with 2 friends to Botsuana, Namibia and Zimbabwe 23 days for 2k each one, instead booking a safari plan, rent a camper toyota hilux and do the safari by yourself

The cheapest way is to find a local to guide you (you could've spent a little less than that)

14 years ago I paid $1600 for 7 or 9 nights(can’t remember exactly) and included accommodation in a lodges, can’t remember if food was included.

They do very well charging so much. They should charge more
