RS Components and the Ethereum meetup group have teamed up to develop the first Internet of Things and Blockchain hackathon in Europe. During that day, programmers and people with just keen interest in Blockchain and Hardware, joined together to build IoT applications using the Eterheum software.
We are starting to discover more and more the common ground between the Blockchain Technology, previously described as an immutable record of digital events shared peer to peer between different parties (famously known as the technology behind Bitcoin), and the physical applications in the domain of the Internet of Things, and this is what the event attempted to stimulate.
From projects like autonomous entity for collecting and selling solar energy to decentralised gas and electricity billing systems the teams did a good job in demonstrating how to build a decentralized Internet of Things.
Overall It was a wonderful occasion for everyone to learn new skills and exchange ideas about this new technology.
