The Grudge - TOOL Guitar Cover. One Take! Adam Jones (TOOL) once told me “Rhythm is the key” and when I met Eric Peterson (Testament) recently he said how he thinks of his right hand as the drums when playing. So one of the things I want to work on is improving my right hand rhythm skills on my guitar and to test myself I decided to learn and play The Grudge by TOOL! This song is a challenge since it’s so rhythmic and very tricky due to complex polyrhythms. I had so much fun learning and playing this song. It builds up so beautifully and it has one of the unusual starts with 0 00 00 000 00! Hope you have fun. If you are new to TOOL, be ready to listen to one of their shortest songs. 😁

I also want to record all my videos in 1 take so I can use this as a way to prepare for stage performances where it’s always 1 take. 😃 And I’m using my brand new awesome guitar strap gifted to me by Jeff Hanneman Family! I love it.

Maya, I just found out about you and your guitar playing today... I saw an AGT video of your first stage performance for them. As soon as you broke into your sitar-style intro, I thought 'This young lady is going to ROCK us' - I was not wrong! Just as much of metal music has roots in European classical music, I think your knowledge of Indian music - which is much more complex than our I - IV - V Rock and Roll - is going to make you a superior musician. I am totally flabbergasted. This kid innocently walks into the dens of those scary (out of respect) and formidable, maestros and jams with them, hugs them, gets goodwill and blessings from them...
