There is no world other than this world;
There is no heaven and no hell;
The realm of religions and Gods,
are fabricated by stupid imposters.
While life is yours, live with joy;
as No one can escape Death's searching eye:
When once your body is burnt,
How can you ever again return?
These were the words of the Charvakas, a major materialistic philosophy of ancient India. This was one of the oldest non-Vedic and non-Dharmic schools. According to them, there is no life after death. The only life we have in this world is not permanent and therefore this life itself should be enjoyed completely. The attainment of sensual pleasure and wealth should be the only goal of a man.

Ancient Indians or people of whole South Asia were genius and most intellectual people around the world. They had hundreds of school of thought like janism, budhism, vedic, Upanishads, ajivakas, charvakas etc & hundres of important others.

But after the 10th century i do not know why what happened people are mostly nothing more than animal mentality on this continent.

Moral of the story
theist and atheist and neither should be allowed to collapse into the other
This is the ultimate singularity

I’m more of a samkhya follower myself but I can see value in this school from an atheistic perspective

The big challenge I've found in the Cārvāka philosophy is the apparent simplicity of it. I understand that much of the writing of the proponents might be lost and that is why we don't see more about the utilitarian aspects of society. Debt without concern for repayment, for instance, seems like a problem because it destroys the underlying mutual trust that allows for debt to be possible, in the first place. If you mess with it, you can't borrow anymore and that, in turn, negatively affects your enjoyment of material goods in this lifetime itself.

Thanks to brahmin's discrimination and atrocities, which led to the formation of such versatile beliefs and many other religions back in the day.

Lokayata did not reject inference. They rejected inferences based on other worldly non - empirical items.

A small refutation of buddhism.

According to the four noble truths, cessation of desire causes cessation of suffering.

According to buddhists themselves every single one of us may undergo of old age sickness and death.

Old age is accompanied by various ailments like memory loss.

So if a person were to lose memory and suffers from intense pain, then he would desire of nothing, since there is nothing left to desire if he doesnt know the better state which he had previously and in his pain his desires would cessate.

We all had cold or flu, during that time we wouldnt be sexually active or the things that we love become repulsive to us, so then during old age each one of us would be attaining nirvana.

Which means that even if we accept Buddhism there is only one life and that is this.

Great video. Thanks. I think their philosphy is based on reasoning. In Buddhist scriptures mentioning of other gurus including Ajitha Keshakumble can be seen.

The icing on the cake
The chvakas forced the theist to become more rational

As much as i read the philosophy more and more my Belief from god is vanishing. How ever I'm proud of a chervaks, Cheevakas were great. Now my family members are frustrated, they're tryna to convince me to believe god. But i can't feel any affect on me. Now I'm overjoyed my own thoughts
