Halloween Screams is a firework and projection show that runs in Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California throughout the months of August-October. It debuted on September 26th 2009 and was inspired by Happy HalloWishes, the Halloween firework show that ran at Walt Disney World in Florida from 2005-2018, and shares many similarities to Halloween Screams. In 2015, Halloween Screams was updated to include projections and in 2022, Jack Skellington got a new look in the show, making him more realistic to his actual appearance in the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. Halloween Screams incorporates projections, lasers, searchlights (moving head lights) and fog machines together with fireworks (select nights only) to make a dazzling display. Projections of the show can be viewed at Sleeping Beauty Castle, It's a Small World, Rivers of America, Main Street USA and the Matterhorn. Each area has a different set of projections, making each area unique. You can also watch the fireworks from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as a different firework show called Fire of the Rising Moons, which plays a different soundtrack that fits Star Wars (there are no projections there, meaning that if it is a projection only night, nothing will happen in Galaxy's Edge). Enjoy!

Helpful Information to Point Out:
1: Fireworks in Disneyland are only presented Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise, the show runs with projections only. There are a couple of occasions per year when fireworks are presented every night.
2: Unlike Walt Disney World, fireworks can be very easily cancelled due to high winds. It happens often, and in most cases fireworks are often cancelled right before the show is scheduled to begin.
3: Since people care more about fireworks than projections, the nights with projections only are much emptier than nights with fireworks. You can find a spot right in front of the castle around 2 hours before, or even less, compared to about 3.5 hours if it was a firework night.
4: For Halloween Screams, it is possible to see 2 versions. For the Monday-Thursday version (or fireworks cancelled version), the show is a few minutes shorter and some sections of the show are removed or have modified projections. The other version is the full version of the show with projections and fireworks presented whenever fireworks occur, which is a few minutes longer.
5: Halloween Screams is presented to everyone every night. From 2009-2018 it was presented during Mickeys Halloween Party for the special ticketed event guests, but since the party retired and now Oogie Boogie Bash (the current halloween party) is in DCA, the show is presented to all guests.
6: Halloween Screams is one of the only firework shows in Disneyland in which on a projection only night, you can stand right behind Sleeping Beauty Castle, giving you a great view of some of the lighting design as well as the inflatable Sphere/Balloon/Crystal Ball that is used in the show, and the Zero prop that flies on the zip-line.

This video was filmed on October 20th 2024 in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The show began at 9:30pm and the exit music is included.
