Honestly, the Dad deserves ALOT of credit for the Williams sisters success. He was the one who shaped, pushed and trained them. I wish I had a Dad like THAT.

Wow that's crazy how Serena said in this video that she felt she was in Venus' shadow and wanted to emulate her growing up. Now Serena is the greatest female tennis player who has ever lived.

When Venus turned pro and was beating pretty much everybody. Many times when Venus was being interviewed, she said if you all think I am good, wait and see my little sister because, she is better than I am. When she first said it, I thought she was just trying to make it easier for her younger sister's path into the pro scene. After a while I watched her facial expression and she looked very sincere. At times she even looked like she knew her sister was going to steal the spot light from her. The reason Serena became better was because she wasn't that strong initially. She worked on speed, foot work and focusing on areas where to hit the ball making it harder for her opponents to get to get to the ball. Then she also worked on her ability to get to the ball if someone played with the same tactics as hers. So her tactical skills became better and her ability to get to the ball in situations no other player would be able to get too. Venus was still able to beat Serena with her power. When Serena finally got power she eventually got even way more power than venus. So Serena was pretty much better than Venus in areas. It was hard for anyone to beat Serena because, her opponents couldn't deal with her power. Opponents got weaker and slower working against her power and she was faster. She was practically a juggernaut.

Richard Williams was something of a genius. He had the vision but he didn't really push his daughters all that hard. He brought them along with love.
I like the way Venus was smiling while her father was ripping that reporter a new one - 3:44. . Her smile said, "that's my daddy!"
Maybe the most remarkable thing about Venus and Serena is that they were so poised and confident. Very ladylike...

I remember that in the late 90s, Richard was predicting that the girls would be playing each other in Major Tournament finals, the entire sports world laughed and called him crazy. He even dropped the hint that Serena would be more successful because of her will to win. In their limited junior participation, Venus was undefeated and Serena had only to losses... to Venus.

To date Venus and Serena have met in EIGHT grand Slam Finals, and Richard was right about Serena dominating.
This is the most fantastic sports story ever.
