In honor of the 25th anniversary of the famous holiday film “Home Alone 2,” ABC News’ Michael Koenigs @MikeOnABikeABC ventured to the Plaza Hotel to reenact some of our favorite Kevin McCallister scenes.

Since the film’s premiere, gone are the days of Kevin’s Talkboy and VHS tapes while the location of Duncan’s Toy Chest, based on the F.A.O. Schwarz toy store, is now an Apple store.

The day consisted of pranking the concierge with audio of Kevin mimicking his father’s voice in order to get a room, trying to find the pool, and visiting the Royal Plaza Suite, one of the most expensive hotel rooms in New York City at $40,000 a night.

Hotel staff told ABC News that during the production of the movie, carpeted floors were removed so actor Macaulay Culkin could effectively slide, but the tiling revealed underneath was the original flooring of the hotel.

Then-owner of the hotel, Donald Trump, liked the tiled floors so much that he kept them.

When visiting the luxurious Royal Plaza Suite, Koenigs devoured an ice cream sundae that was served to him in bed, just like Kevin did.

The visit ended by tipping the doorman in gum and heading off in a white limo with a cheese pizza in tow.

The Plaza Hotel is offering a “Live like Kevin” experience package this holiday season, starting at $895 a night for the over-the-top sundae room service, a visit to their interactive photo experience, and “Home Alone 2” themed swag.

For additional purchase, guests could tour New York City in a limo with a map of everywhere Kevin visited, access to Wollman Ice Rink, express passes to the top of the Empire State Building, and more.

It's been 25 years since the release of "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York." To celebrate, the Plaza Hotel, which plays a prominent role in the film, is offering a package that allows guests to live it up like Kevin McAllister.

Rates start at $895, only slightly less than the $967 Kevin spent on room service during his stay.

"In-room and throughout the hotel a variety of experiences inspired by Kevin's time over the holiday's here at The Plaza will come to life for guests to enjoy," according to the hotel's website. "Beyond the in-room experience, guests are invited to dine in the Todd English Food Hall to taste-test a 90s inspired menu with upscale versions of childhood favorites, or to head over to the interactive photo-experience where they’ll find themselves in Kevin’s New York journey."

Included in the package is an "over-the-top" ice cream sundae from room service, just like the one Kevin had in the film.

The hotel concierge will also arrange for guests to experience quintessential New York sights, like the Empire State Building, Wollman Rink and a limo trip through the city. Not included: visit with the pigeon lady or guest appearances from Donald Trump.

The plaza Hotel room was Designed better in the movie, with the warm color walls dark red and forest green and the Gold. More fancier and richer looking.

I think Kevin was supposed to stay longer than one night but they scared him away when discovering the stolen credit card. And of course his family got a complimentary Penthouse suite as an apology for the way they handled the credit card situation.

Kevin dad must be rich. His dad payed for all the tickets for the vacation in the first and second movie. Not to mention the parents are in business class seats including the uncle and aunt.

Kevin was right his uncle is a cheapskate because he wold not help pay for the pizzas to help the families out in the first movie and at the end of the second movie when everyone is opening presents he the one saying don’t open any of my parents when it was because of Kevin who help out on the Toy Store so the family got all the presents in the first place

I'd give anything to have a stay like Kevin did in the movie. Go from country bumpkin to Manhattan princess for a night.
