The amount of inspiration Frusicante and Mayer took from Hendrix are so apparent when anyone breaks down Hendrix's techniques!

There's something to be appreciated about a YouTube guitar lesson that FEELS like an actual guitar lesson. No jump cuts, a few mistakes here and there to show that no one is perfect, and just solid advice that feels natural and not over the top. You have yourself a subscriber. I look forward to pulling this up when I get home.

Eric, I have been playing guitar for a while now (14 years, shit that's half my life) and have always felt like I stopped making progress a long time ago. This video has completely opened up my playing. The way you communicate notes relative to chord shapes and positions is wonderful. I was stuck playing up and down minor blues scales, trying to solo over blues progressions, and it always sounded bland. With 30 minutes of following through a couple of your videos, I feel like I can play the way I always dreamed of playing. Please, please, please keep posting these wonderful lessons.

The YouTube algorithm has been begging me to take this lesson all week. It was right, this was what I needed.

Eric this is a great tutorial. I have been playing for over 40 years and jammed and taken lessons from pros in genres across the board. You are a natural teacher. The main reason I picked up electric guitar years ago was hearing and seeing Jimi Hendrix play. It blew my mind. Conveying his technique in your way is inspirational! Thank you!

I think it’s excellent that you speak about the physicality of playing some of these things. Most teachers ignore the changes your body might need to make to help execute a part, and that can often be the critical piece that’s missing and is causing the student most of their frustration. Great job!

After being struck by Hendrix's first album when I was 14 years old I am picking up the guitar again and trying
to play some of his incredible sounds.
I am not amazed by young guitarist fascination with his unique styling. His originality exceeded his peers.
We speak of him over 50 years after his death in awe of what he accomplished. Thanks for the great lesson!

Absolutely perfect lesson on creating rhythm licks to accompany 5th and 6th string root major and minor chords. These tips connect the whole darn fretboard. Wonderfully done.

I already was aware of the magic of 6ths and 3rds but I had no idea that they could be so easily connected to the CAGED system and its different inversions. Great lesson, thanks!

Keep coming back to this video if you ever feel stuck or bored of playing the same old stuff. Eye opening-ly helpful. Thank you!

Every side note, every little reference and every small explanation helped me to understand what I missed before. Please keep on doing that.

I've never heard anybody talk about body position (e.g. drop the shoulder) before. Amazing attention to detail!

Wow, what a great lesson.  I'm a middle-aged bedroom guitar player (after the kids go to bed) and my band days are long past.  But I still love to play, and this lesson was a wonderful etude on how to do a whole lot with a little.  Thanks!  Also, that Mustang sounds and looks great!

This feels like the Bob Ross version of YouTube guitar tutorials. And I love it. Happy little chords!

This is the single greatest, most well paced, informative and tip laden guitar lesson video I have ever seen in the hundreds (thousands?) I have watched. You've made it one of only a handful of people I subscribe to. Kudos!
