I've been to the Lake Atitlan area and although it is drop dead gorgeous there are dangers in the mountains around there, lots of thieves and shady characters roam around there and you can get easily abducted if you're not in a group. It is dangerous to be solo. I hope it isn't true but it seems likely she went walking somewhere by herself and was the victim of foul play... very sad. To women - ALWAYS go in a group, always!

Help her family! I hope she is found alive! This is heartbreaking. US govt needs to step in and work w local authorities to find her! Keep her name and face in the news! They need to get statements from the SoCal witnesses that left Guatemala after the incident and aren’t cooperating. That so suspicious!

Where are the friends that she went down with. They know what's going on. This is very similar to that young american female that went on a trip with a group of her friends and they beat her up on camera she ended up dead with a broken spine. 😢

Lake Atitlan has many documented cases of armed robbery. Unfortunately, since nothing has been heard from Nancy then we can only assume the worst. We can safely assume that it wasn't a case of robbery & letting victims go..something worse happened to this poor woman. I hope she is found safe <3

She was in a kayak with other kayakers the whole story doesn’t make sense. She was with a group and someone knows something and isn’t talking. Lie detector test for all attendees, including whoever runs the retreat and all yoga instructors. ASAP

A retreat usually has a set group and itinerary. Everyone on that retreat going home and going about their normal lives is disturbing. Also ironic that there is a yoga retreat in a country that is poor and its people make up a large population of the migrants coming to the US southern border.
