id love to give credit too is Jimi's band members who are very often overlooked. Jimi is a legend of course, but Mitch Mitchell his drummer and Noel Redding his bassist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience should be remembered. They kept up with the legend during his performances and albums which shows how talented and skilled they were and you can argue are right up there as one of the best rhythm sections of all time. One thing I appreciate about Hendrix too is that he knew this! in songs like All Along the Watchtower and Hey Joe he really lays back and lets them carry the song and I mean the bassline in hey Joe is absolutely awesome.

Hey brother, ..I love your passion for Jimi's music. I heard him at 18 years old and 2 years later put down the drums and picked up the guitar to try and figure out what he was doing. That was 52 years ago and I still can't stop playing and listening to him. You are an awesome teacher and a fine ass player. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Sad to see big ass money corporations blocking the legacy of a free spirit, who surely would want everyone to have acces to as much musicality as possible, if he saw the internet.

Good job reuploading this. Never let Jimi Hendrix fade away!

My first Hendrix album was Band of Gypsys, I was 13. It blew my mind completely. 40 years later, I'm still in awe. Thanks for your videos!

Hendrix played a mean beast that few can imitate. He got me and countless others to play, and really set the mood for the psychedelic scene without a doubt! Cheers for the vid (Even though it's a reupload haha)

Once you learn the Hendrix style and you can visualize the different chord inversions on the guitar neck, the flood gates will open...

PS... your piano playing is great! Any piano tutorial/tricks/tips videos????

Thom Helwig – Guitar Pilgrim, IS ONE HELLUVA GUITAR PLAYER!!!

His clean & accurate playing on any demo is a perfect example of a top level guitarist & tutor. He is funny in a laid back way, very articulate & knowledgeable – I really enjoy watching his videos & learning heaps.
Then of course he can hammer out the same stuff on piano! So glad to have stumbled on his Tuts & Page.

Thank you Thom for a brilliant series of demos & tuts. 10 \ 10.

I'd never forget the first time I heard Jimi Hendrix.
It was one of his hit singles named "Fire".
I heard it in movie that I don't recall the name of.
But from those moments, as a non musician, a child who didn't even knew what to call this type of music, I was singing the riff of that song in variety of ways that Hendrix played it on stage.
And when I finally heard the song again, I was even more than happy to know, that the song has lyrics.

Thanks Jimi.
For me, you did more than enough and leaved.
I'll be playing your records, all nights long, brother.

He was amazing because he was original. No one played like that ever at that time.

Most things he did werent that dificult, but he had a real new view on guitar, and still nobody is able to beat him in those inventive ways of playing yet

When I first listened to Jimi. I came home from school asked my dad if he could buy me a guitar. Bought me one that same day. 10 years later and I'm still playing guitar. Own 10 different guitars now

The first thing I fell in love with (back in my first week of college in '74) was the Hendrix in the West record, mainly Little Wing and Johnny B. Goode. My mind was thoroughly blown.

When I heard Jimi for the first time I was sold. And to this day he remains my favourite musician of all time. I here new things every time I listen to Drix. Too bad I could never hear him play live. My favourite Hendrix song is 1983 ...(A merman I should turn to be).

Great tone on that Strat. That's as important as the technique. The two together equal guitar heaven.
