This seems to be a giant leap forward in EV tech, it’s very exciting to see another quality manufacturer moving in this direction. I owned a kona electric soon to own a Niro EV. And when this new tech arrives I’ll be the first in line, hopefully.

I really like the new dedicated Battery Electric Vehicule (BEV) platform from Hyundai, and especially 2 big advantages compared to other platforms (ex: Volkswagen MEB, ...) :

1. 800V architecture for ultra-high power DC charging (300kW / 350kW), which significantly lower charging time 👍 !!!

2. Vehicule to Load to get 220V (hopefully up to 7.2kW like the Ford 2021 F-150 pickup) which opens possibilities to plug 220V electric appliances 👍 !!!

It is 2 features I was extremely looking forward to happen has they bring significant advantages to BEV versus Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicules

I am really gratefull to Hyundai researchers, engineers and technicians for all the hard technical work of developping those technologies for the E-GMP platform 👍👍👍 !!!

As the platform is similar to handphones rather than mechanical cars, there will be a mass unemployment of mechanics. Electronics requires formal education, even assembly line workers are from top notch vocational high schools which have copies of recent industrial equipment at school. Being allowed to work will be a privilege; most will live from universal basic income(about $300 per month).

Is the Ioniq 5 compliant plug and charge like the Tesla does ? Reference ISO 15118 specification. Would it be able to use Tesla superchargers?
