Is three stages enough to fully cover the wide range of functions we see in IBM? I don't think so. I think that it makes sense to designate stage I as before diagnosis. Stage II would be describing symptoms and signs arising/continuing after an IBM diagnosis. Stage III needs to be better differentiated because it does not capture the end stages well enough. We definitely need a stage IV to better describe people who have swallowing issues for example requiring a peg tube and/or those with respiratory issues requiring intervention. Just my thoughts.
