The Second Annual Christmas in July Fairies begins July 1, 2021! Last year's event was a huge success!  Let’s make this year even better by considering some guidelines.
The Christmas in July Fairies (CIJF) is one of the greatest channel collaboration giveaway contests on YouTube.
It’s easy to participate! Each participating channel posts a Fairy Video which will be added to the Official CIJF Playlist on YouTube. Viewers can enter the contest once on each Fairy video by writing a comment on the video page. Each Fairy will draw one semifinalist winner from the comments on their video using any means they choose (see tips below). I will have a drawing on July 25, 2021 for the final winner using the Fairy Numbers. The Final winner will win one prize from each participating channel. 
There will be an Official CIJF Playlist that will include all the Fairy Videos so contestants can easily find the videos.
The goal is to thank our subscribers and send gifts to one lucky winner.  It isn’t about promoting ourselves, gaining subscribers, or growing our channels.
So here’s the general idea and how to get started:
•    Each Fairy uploads a short video sometime between July 1st and July 14th announcing their participation in the event.  I am requesting that you do not start running your video until July 1, 2021 or after. If you want to do it early, you can create it, upload it to YouTube and leave it unlisted until July 1st, or you can schedule it to start running July 1st. The deadline for Fairy video uploads is July 14th. 

•    Use the hashtag: #christmasinjulyfairies21 in the video title. Use only that hashtag in your fairy video.


•    Please review all YouTube Contest Rules and add necessary info to the description box of your video. Here are some suggestions (Thanks to Reggie at J Hook Crochet for theses standard giveaway rules):
o    Must be over 18 years old to enter
o    Must leave a comment to enter
o    Open worldwide, as long as you can receive the winnings into your country
o    Void where prohibited
o    Any additional duties or taxes are the winner's responsibility
o    Not affiliated with YouTube or any company
o    The giveaway will close on (insert date here)
o    The winner will be chosen using (insert method here) and revealed on a separate video
o    Please refer to the video for additional information


•    When I receive your video link, I will assign you a Fairy Number. Please hang onto that number! This number will identify your channel for the winning drawing.


•    I will create an Official Fairies Playlist that will contain all the Fairy videos.

•    Contestants will enter the contest by commenting in your fairy video and other fairy videos. Fairies are not eligible to win.  You are either a fairy or a contestant. 


•    You will draw a semifinalist from the comments under that video using any means you choose and upload a video announcing your semifinalist. Please upload video after 12am your time between July 15th and July 20th.  

•    Use the hashtag: #christmasinjulyfairies21 in the video title. Use only that hashtag in your fairy video and your semifinalist video
I will use a random number generator to choose one winner on July 25th.  I will then go to the Fairy Number in the Fairy List and watch that video to see who the grand prize winner is. 
I will share the winner’s info with all of you so you can send a small gift as a prize.  It can be a Christmas ornament, an e-gift card, or maybe a small amount sent to their PayPal.  Some fairies send a small gift to their semi finalist but that is up to you. Some fairies drew more than one name to send gifts to, but only one is the semi finalist per channel.
Here are some tips and guidelines:
•    Keeping the videos short will help the contestants watch more videos.  This event isn’t about watch hours and the contestants will have a huge list of videos to watch.  I hope you will keep your videos under 5 minutes.
•    Please only use the hashtag #christmasinjulyfairies21 on those two videos.

•    How you choose your winner is completely up to you.  

•    It’s a good idea to give your semifinalist a deadline to get in touch with you before you redraw.  Send the link to your redraw video if needed. You may want to make sure you have a way to contact the winner. Not everyone has their email address listed on their YouTube Channel.

•    Be sure your email address is available in the description box of your “Semifinalist” video.

•    Anyone is welcome to be a fairy as long as they aren’t just a “grow” channel.

•    Even though the event started in the crochet community, this event isn't for crocheters only. The winner could easily be someone who doesn't crochet.

•    Fairies are not eligible to win.  You are either a fairy or a contestant. 

•    Some people may draw a fairy name and send them a small gift to thank them for being a fairy.  But that name won’t be their semifinalist.

•    When the big winner is drawn I will need their full mailing address, an email address they use with Amazon, and an email address they use with PayPal.  You can choose what kind of gift to send. I recommend waiting until the big winner is drawn before deciding on a gift. I will ask them what kind of allergies and interests they have. 

•    Participation in this contest means you agreeing to send a prize to the final winner as stated above. I am not responsible for any individual channel that does not hold up their part of this agreement. I have put together CJIF as a way for channels to connect with their viewers and connect with other channels. I have stated some rules, and suggested others, but I cannot be responsible for those who do not follow them. Each channel has entered this contest as an individual channel and any issues will need to be taken up with that specific channel.
If you don’t want to use either one please find another fairy to keep you updated in messenger or email.  We want to keep you in the loop!
