DEMO DAY: 2018 Pivot Mach 5.5 Carbon review and test ride

While waiting for my new fork to arrive i went out to demo a 2018 Pivot Mach 5.5 carbon.
It looks like a modern trail bike, even with the somewhat steep-ish head angle, but rides like a tank. I was seriously impressed by the DW link's pedaling efficiency and kept the shock open for most of the ride, even when climbing.
Dentist jokes aside, the mach 5.5 is a very competent trail bike!

I have this bike and it is a a great ride, bought one last week in a sale. The 2.6 tyres add great traction....at the right pressure. The DW suspension rocks. The fork...undecided. I have a Pike on my Cube C:62 SL 160 and this is real good, but not so good on my Giant Reign advanced 1...Strange. The Reign is for sale...

I have a 2018 Canyon Spectral 6.0 AL with 2.6 and no complaints, 2019 is 2.4 for some reason. I am in the US [North Carolina] and I agree PIVOT is overpriced, I looked at a few and they seemed to start at about $5500.00 USD and went up QUICK, I only paid 2400.00 for my Spectral with GX then added a set of 2019 Mavic XA carbon wheels and a Fizik M-1 seat

Scrunch! Overboard with the low BB heights yea a newbie will corner better but once you know how to ride, a no pedal strike BB height is the way to go. I like like em high and dry...
