I think your lawn is cursed, with all the money and years you spent trying to repair all those bald patches, you get the same results nothing ever grows. Think about removing the old grass and that bad dirt put in 3 inches of triple blend topsoil which is 1/3 topsoil 1/3 sand and 1/3 mulch. And then lay down some Sod. Or dig out the old soil in his bald spots add new soil and sod forget about the grass seed it ain't working for you.
