Monoclonal antibody treatment: Why it's so difficult to distribute

In September, the Biden administration moved to stave off shortages of monoclonal antibodies, taking over distribution of the critical covid-19 treatment. Their use has become more widespread in the United States in recent months, especially in the Deep South due to high infection rates.

“These antibodies were found to be remarkably effective if given early, within 10 days of symptoms,” said Upinder Singh, a professor of infectious diseases at Stanford University. “They reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by almost 80 percent. They reduce the symptoms by four days.”

Hard to distribute yet Desantis gives it out freely in Florida. He is a far better governor than any of the other states.

3:36 - you forgot to add hospitals firing their front line workers.

So you basically need the same things to distribute the antibody as you do the vax, so what’s the problem?

Fact Check FALSE.

My wife needed it at 2:00pm.
Went online.
Got an address in Tampa, FL
Received it by 4:00pm.

Florida has set up an efficient distribution system, it seems governor DeSantis is always a step ahead of the DC bureaucracy that wants to prolong the pandemic hysteria.

Vaccines do not stop or prevent much. They just reduce symptoms.

I am full vaccinated and currently have my third round of covid. I get my infusion on Monday. I have a lot of complicated medical conditions and I am hoping this infusion will get me feeling better. Stay well everyone!

I had a break through case, so on top of the vaccination I needed the antibodies. Wasn’t the easiest thing to get in NJ.

The body makes at least 10 to the 18 that is one quintillion or 1 million trillion different anti bodies.

Of course Monoclonals aren't vaccine substitutes. There's a sharp distinction between vaccines and monoclonals and the lady at 2:00 to 2:09 explains them.

I had an allergic reaction to the monoclonal iv treatment. Im 19, they started the infusion and left me alone. My heartrate spiked into the 170s, my skin red and splotchy. I was shouting for help for a while before a nurse who heard me screaming from a different building stopped the IV and gave me epi. It was veryy scary, ive barely slept since :(

I’m in the over 65 group, can’t see going to U. S. for years. Florida has triple deaths 21, 000- 63, 000 since January about 85% seniors. Arizona my first choice to holiday has one of highest death rates per million. Just sold our place in Phoenix, lots of friends but too risky.
