Quick note for an errata: Polaris is still getting closer to the Celestial North Pole. It will have is closest approach around 2100. Estimates vary, but your second to last source specifies 2102 not 2012.

Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Anytime I see the earth in a picture showing the entire sphere or if it’s a video clip, it scares the hell out of me! Something to do with knowing that we are on an open planet, on its side and nothing above our heads.. crazy.

So the dinosaurs would have seen an entirely different night sky than we do now.

Technically, the Sun and Moon were also considered as planetas (planets) by the ancient Greek. They have 7 planets, one for each 7 days of the week as you know.

Absolutely top tier video! This gave me a chills thinking about the time scale of the universe in a much more profound way then all those other videos and monologues designed to inform me about the scale of the universe.

Space based telescopes blow my mind! These pieces of scientific equipment are the most advanced and technologically sophisticated in the world, and are built to withstand a rocket launch and journey to the vacuum of space without any human intervention…amazing

2:10 It's probably not a big deal, but... Earth is moving backward along its orbit in this animation.

And 5000 years later we have the Flat Earth Movement. OMG, Hippacharus would have choked on his cups.

Wish you could post longer videos! I love all your content and would not complain if I was lucky enough to get even more❤

That initial diagram, when not viewed as literal geocentrism, was also seen as a map of the soul, and the levels of consciousness that aspirants would progress through to achieve Enlightenment, (re)unification with the Empireum, or the Mind of God, Source consciousness. Stabilize in Earth, the center, and expand through the planets, then zodiacal aspects, before touching the totality

I love this kind of stuff! There's some great astronomy channels on here, one of which is by Dr. Becky, that lists the interesting stuff to watch for each month (like meteor showers, and planetary alignments), plus astronomy news. Well worth a watch!

I love how the ancient Greeks are given credit for finding the procession of the Earth's orbit, but the Mayan civilization, who also figured it out and based their entire calender on it, are never mentioned!

A constantly shifting map of our brief time here. Seems appropriate.

I've tried many times to explain this to people that follow star signs but it's always lost on them.
