Get the Lazulite sacred flame it costs a few more spirit emblems but gives you a longer buff with a R2 to R1 combo, that mixed with this umbrella is the best way to take down any apparitions w out confetti of course

I really don't know why i haven't thought of this even though ive been using the umbrella against shichis. Imagine just how faster this will be with confetti thrown in the mix

Potential spoilers?:

If you would like early-ish (mid-game?) confetti to speed up this process, or to manage until you get the umbrella, you can farm them from the blue guys in Ashina Castle's antechamber. Specifically, the 1st guy.

I would recommend the bell demon buff and also the item balloon or certain skills from an esoteric text in the temple area.

After you move counter clockwise to assassinate the 1st blue guy, you can just run into the sliding doors and everything else into the room before resting.
Even when you rest, the noise making objects are still out of the way, so you can make a beeline straight for the blue guy, back stab, and return to rest in like 10 seconds


Note: Sorry for wording things informally (ex: blue guy), I know that's probably not as cool sounding as it could be


Edit 1: if anyone needs to farm for skip points, I fondly recall running my happy ass through certain areas until I got to Mibu village.
From there, you can crouch and sneak up on a purple ninja in the water area below. I think the guy gives around 700-800 exp, and it doesn't take too much time to kill him and run back.

I just stack divine confetti with ako's sugar and hack away. Takes less than a minute usually

Still Headless mini-bosses are hell a free after finishing the game since every shop sells confetti and their moveset is easy to master, still good show of what tools can do

These motherfuckers were my actual nemesis in this game. After beating the last boss I still couldn't beat one of these fuckers. I tried everything. Swapping buttons, sugars, mortal blades, ichimonji. Until I found the purple umbrella of death. I went directly to all of them and handed them their asses in one try. This is truly the best way to get rid of these fuckers.
