If you plan on having a waterpipe from the well, be sure to have heating cables inside of the pipes, have the water pump indoors and insulate the pipes so they don't freeze in winter. (we use that system in our cabin here in Norway and it works all winter). Congrats on your new land, it looks amazing!

Congratulations on your purchase and new home!! Just a thought…what about if you build back instead of taking up the covered nice porch? That way you can still enjoy your outside space without getting rained on. You can screen it in and then not have to worry about bugs either!… Again, just a thought and Congrats!!!😊

I did an extention over my deck on my first house. Make sure you insulate the floor too because its off ground. Wow where does one find a woman that wants to live in the bush. Good for you girl.

Hey Drew, I’m a custom cabinet maker in B.C. You did a fantastic job on your kitchen! I love the base end column at the end of the run.

One little tip if you build cabinets again is to install your drawer slide on the cabinet gables before you build the box, that way you don’t have to use shims or jigs to get the slide at the correct height. You just measure up from the bottom of the gable plus the thickness of your cabinet bottom and make a centre line. This helps with narrow cabinets where it’s hard to get a drill deep inside.
