The sample visible on the left at 1:53 when striations are being discussed actually shows exsolution lamellae (intergrowths of two feldspars together), not striations due to twinning.

I come across a lot of quartz when walking in the hills and mountains - They are awesome - yet no value, unless one finds gold or silver and creates/make a quartz ring! Great blog - many thanks!
