Absolutely no recoil. The M27 is perfect for the infantry I don’t understand why they don’t issue this to the entire U.S. military get rid of the M4

I understand replacing M4s/M16s with this, I've read the data. But it was suggested that the M27 replace the M249 as the automatic rifleman, which is a very different swap. Can someone more knowledgeable explain to me how an assault rifle, however reliable, accurate, and resistant to heat buildup, could compete with a belt fed weapon taking 100+ round drums? It seems to me the 30 round box mags would be the Achilles heel keeping it from filling that role laying down massive volume of fire. Enlighten me please.

The M249, MK46 and MK48 fire rounds into the ground at medium range it waste ammunition. The SAW is only accurate out to 300 meters than rounds start hitting the ground and it's spraying everywhere instead of maintaining a tight group. The M60 didn't have that problem you could actually hit a target out to 650 meters same with the M240 . They tried to fix the accuracy issue with the MK46 for Special Operations Forces making the MK48 7.62x51 NATO useing the same round as the M60 and M240. You still have the problem of the SAW fireing rounds into the ground .The M27-IAR- Infantry Automatic Rifle is an all purpose Weapons System built around The HK417 so it can be used as an Assault Rifle, Light Machine Gun, Medium Light Machine Gun or a Designated Marksman Rifle thats why it's going to replace the M249 . The M240 is going to be replaced by the M250 in the next year or two if everything goes well after the filed trials.
