And farmers also used to find milksnakes wrapped around cows legs, they thought they was going for the milk (milking the cows to steal the milk) but they only wanted the warmth 😂 I have a milksnake and hes brilliant such an awesome snake 💙

I've heard black racers called milk snakes and the reason I was told is because they will bite onto the cow's teat and suck the milk straight out of the cow.

Yeah immediately thought about another video where a guy left a bowl of milk outside, and within a few hours there were like 20 rats. That would definitely attract snakes, and there would be no rats around when people came back, so I can see why this confusion

I think the milk was used to attrack small rodents and the snakes stay nearby for an easy have heard similar stories that use other food items (cheese, peanut butter) that have similar results.

My ball python tries to "drink" from my cup of milk whenever i have her out of her dwelling.

I let her once, she never drank it, she just kind put her big squishy snoot in it lol

Her name is silky and shes slightly deformed but is overall unaffected by it.

Note: I call her cage/terrarium a "dwelling"

There's even a rural legend in Brazil about this. It says that a snake will slither at night into homes with a mother in lactating period, they put their tail in the baby's mouth to "put a spell" that would keep them from drinking milk, and then drink the milk directly from the mother while she was sleeping.
As i said, rural legend.

It was the cobras of India and even then it might have been Coconut or goat milk that was used to give those Cobras.

I wouldn't have recognized the snake at the end since it was so far into the shed cycle.

So technically snakes are attracted to milk because they know there is a chance there might be a free rodent meal.

I think it's more that the things snakes eat would eat the milk, but fun video none the less.
