Considering I'm a New Orleans native, I'm used to the humidity and the hurricanes possibility lol. Relocating to Texas made me adjust to the heat and a higher cost of living. I'll be moving to Maryland in a few months, I hope it's nice to me.

As far as property taxes it depends where u are coming from. Here in Illinois we have the 2nd highest. Maryland is ranked 31st. Y’all cost of living is higher but taxes are lower.(depending where ur coming from)

Dang, has she been to Cumberland, Deep Creek Lake, or the small towns on the eastern shore? Her commentary seems to be about PG County, Montgomery County, Baltimore City and surrounding areas. Annapolis also quite urban. Each area has their certain charm. Although lately I try not to venture into those areas because of the crime and liberal governance is disconcerting. I live in rural Frederick County. Frederick City is a short few miles away. The area has been historically farm land, that is changing much to my chargrin. Although Maryland is not as big as Virginia we still do have a lot of open spaces and recreational areas. If someone wants to move her e for work, there will be a commute unless you are working from home. Or are in the residential service industry which there is a great need for, especially for all the high paid people that live in the rural areas.

Montgomery County, Maryland is very crowded. Montgomery County is building more apts/condos than single family homes. High Taxes!!

Maryland is a beautiful state it has a lot to offer but if you are retiring you do not want to move to Maryland it is not retirement friendly

There is a large discrepancy of educational systems in the various counties of Maryland. Crime can also be an issue the closer you are to the metropolitan areas. The state is liberal, politically, so it has strict gun laws and hasn't seen a tax it doesn't like. -Just a few additional details you might be interested in before joining us here.

Great breakdown and explanation. Maryland can be tough to live in. Lots of history and interesting stuff here. Baltimore has gotten a bit questionable to visit,
I love md been here all my life but have considered leaving to find cheaper living and to get away from the overcrowded areas

Rain rain and more rain. But the segregation of communities is a big reason not to move there too. Diverse but not integrated. Separation, engrained racism and overt racism is a big reason. Just left this hell hole in 2023 after 30 years.
