5) 24/7 Current Affairs PDF-PDF ki haay-haay is not required.
6) (lastly and most importantly) Mains Answer Writing DAY#1 se nhi krni chaahiye. (not required from day1).

With such a strong background her studying methods would not suit for an average candidate from an average college.

Answer writing strategy depends upon person to person. There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.

Practicing from day 1 is a bad strategy but starting to practice after prelims would not suit everyone.

There is difference of opinion between toppers on that matter.
There may be following possibilities:-
1) may be some toppers glorifying their preparation.
2)may they are speaking the truth.
3)may be all have different approaches.

I think if you read any book either economic, geography or any book related to upsc make sure to first go through previous years question papers... Of mains ... This will help you analyse the book's content in upsc perspective. You can frame questions or just understand that this kind of questions can be asked and after reading the book you can just take a model question or prepare it by yourself then answer it...it may or may not be a perfect answer because even upsc will not expect a perfect answer but it will keep the track of answer writing throughout for mains. And help to get through time limitations.

I think there is no problem in starting early because you will get to understand your mistakes.
And as DOING SOMETHING IS ALWAYS BATTER THAN DOING NOTHING. 👍👍

It vary person to person. some people are very good in writing answers while others lack the basic skill becoj of difference of schooling, medium of study and stream as well. UPSC dont require shakespere level of writting, they need people who can write in simple manner, that is the crux. It depends on uh what kind of writer uh are. Instead of blindly following anyone just analyse urself what are ur strength and weakness, work on ur weakness and leverage ur strength, this the basic of strategy.
