Carlos Edwards was scoring form 25 yards out, you think that was down to me. Absolutely refreshing to hear from a manager.

I was at the Burnley game, when at 2-2 I was talking to my partner on the phone in Middlesbrough, when Carlos Edwards scored that thunderbolt and the whole stadium just erupted, 44, 000 screaming Sunderland fans and my partner was complaining about the noise and asked what just happened. I managed to tell her that Carlos Edwards had just scored before losing my voice totally. I got home about 1am after the game and was back at work at 5am with no voice and everybody at work was taking the piss out of me, but I didn't care I was so happy that we were promoted. What Roy Keane achieved that season was truly amazing and I'll never forget that season or that Burnley game.

I still believe he has something to offer in management in the modern game... Surrounded by good coaches he could do something special again.

It’s actually crazy how many people forget about this achievement. He was very unlucky with Ipswich after.

Love Roy as pundit but even more for what he did for Sunderland, it was my first season ticket and I’ll never forget that season ever.

Proper proper man, giving all the credit to players and accepting all the blame for himself. He has so much gratitude and never changing his values of commitment, hard work and focus.

As an Irishman, I say, "Roy Keane is football". He embodies everything I believe about the game. Legend. Oh, I should mention I live in Cork....the Keane Capital! Love to Roy!!! And his dad Mossy who I had a few pints with in the Rob Roy in Cork city once or twice. Top men the Keanes!

What Roy did at Sunderland that season was incredible. We went bottom the week he took over and he just brought us slowly, quietly up the league to snatch the title at the final whistle of the final game. As he said, there was a feel good factor at the club. That disappeared in recent years but now, thanks to Tony Mowbray and Regis Le Bris, that feeling is back and Sunderland are a Premier league team again

I was young at the time, I watched Keane in his best years for united. In my opinion in the top 3 best captains of any team. I believed years ago he would always go on to manage united. I understand more now and see the politics of football. There’s still a tiny bit of me wants him to manage united. What an absolute legend, that will back down to no man woman child or animal. Keane is legendary.
