The Temecula Valley School Board has voted to fire superintendent Jodi McClay as the district deals with backlash over the board's decision to ban a book that includes references to Harvey Milk, a county supervisor from San Francisco who was the first openly gay politician to be elected to office in California.

He was history as a politician and veteran and he was with a grown man, he was assassinated after only 11 months in office in his 40s.
